What are the nomination pathways for Queensland?
The following nomination pathways are available to:
- Skilled workers in Queensland
- Skilled workers outside Australia
- Queensland Graduates
- 491 Small business owners (SBO)
What are the key requirements for the Skilled Workers Outside Australia Pathway
To skilled workers to be eligible:
- You must have a points test score of 65 or higher
- Your occupation must be listed on the Queensland Skilled Occupation List or the Queensland Energy Skilled Occupation List
- You must have Proficient English or higher
- You must have at least 5 years of skilled employment experience in your nominated or closely related occupation
- You must be committed to living and working in Queensland for:
- 2 years for a subclass 190 visa
- 3 years for a subclass 491 visa
What is the nomination process for Migration Queensland?
The nomination process takes place in several steps. We will first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) on SkillSelect, selecting 'Queensland' as your only state of interest. We then submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) with the required details (EOI number, visa subclass, skilled occupation, passport, employment postcodes, salary estimate for onshore applicants, and skilled partner info). Third, Migration Queensland selects and invites candidates throughout the year. If you are invited invited, we will have 14 days to provide the required documents, submit the application form, and pay the non-refundable fee. If you are nominated, you will receive an invitation to apply for the visa, and we will have 60 days to submit your visa application to the Department of Home Affairs.
