Melbourne

The latest data on state and territory nominations for skilled migration in Australia shows that 2024 is a promising year for skilled professionals!

The Australian government has recently released the nomination allocations for the 2024-2025 program year with a total of 16,500 places for 190 visa and 9,760 places for 491 visa as follows:

Australian Capital Territory (ACT) 

  • 1,000 places for 190 visa nominations
  • 800 places for 491 visa nominations

The first invitation round was held on 08 Aug and the next one will take place before 27 September 2024.

New South Wales

  • 3,000 places for 190 visa nominations
  • 2,000 places for 491 visa nominations

The NSW skilled nomination program will reopen in the coming weeks.

Northern Territory

  • 800 places for 190 visa nominations
  • 800 places for 491 visa nominations

Offshore applications reopened on 14 August 2024 but only for the NT Family Stream and Job Offer Stream; the Priority Occupations Stream will remain suspended for the time being.

Queensland

  • 600 places for 190 visa nominations
  • 600 places for 491 visa nominations

The Queensland 2024-25 State Nominated Migration Program has not opened yet and further details including dates and eligibility criteria, will be provided when available.

South Australia

  • 3,000 places for 190 visa nominations
  • 800 places for 491 visa nominations

South Australia’s state nominated skilled migration program for 2024-2025 is now open with 464 occupations available for the onshore streams and 427 occupations open to offshore applicants.

Tasmania

  • 2,100 places for 190 visa nominations
  • 760   places for 491 visa nominations

Registrations of Interest are now open with several updates in eligibility requirements, policy guidance and service fees.

Victoria: 5,000 places

3,000 places for 190 visa nominations

2,000 places for 491 visa nominations

The 2024-25 Skilled Visa Nomination program is now open where the applicants must first make, or update, an Expression of Interest (EOI) via the Australian Government’s SkillSelect and then submit a Registration of Interest (ROI).

Western Australia

3,000 places for 190 visa nominations

800 places for 491 visa nominations

The nominated migration program is now open. The WA government will provide equal invitation ranking for both interstate and overseas candidates. Invitation rounds for the 2024-25 program year are anticipated to be held the first week of each month, with the first selection held on 16 Aug
