What is the Australian Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL)
The PMSOL is a list of occupations that are considered critical to the Australian economy and have been given priority processing for skilled migration visas. The PMSOL was introduced by the Australian government in September 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact on Australia's labour market.
The list ceased to be in effect on 28 October 2022.
What kind of roles are included in the PMSOL?
The PMSOL includes occupations in the health care, construction, and IT sectors, among others. The list is reviewed regularly by the Australian government and is subject to change depending on the needs of the Australian economy.
What is the purpose of the PMSOL?
The PMSOL is intended to fast-track the processing of skilled migration visa applications for applicants who have the required skills and qualifications for the listed occupations. Examples of visa programs that use the PMSOL include the Employer Sponsored Visa Program, Global Talent Visa Program, and the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491).
Applicants who wish to apply for a visa under the PMSOL must meet the relevant skills and qualifications requirements for their occupation, as well as other eligibility criteria such as English language proficiency, age, health, and character. The requirements and eligibility criteria can vary depending on the specific visa program being applied for.
